Job summary

Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust seeks a substantive Consultant Psychiatrist to work with Community Intellectual Disability teams in Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale and Hyndburn/Ribble Valley. The role is full time (10 PAs) and newly created, with support from a Specialist Doctor across Pennine Lancashire, mainly based in Blackburn.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration and inclusion on the Specialist Register or eligible for entry within 6 months of interview.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat people with learning disabilities with additional mental health issues, including autism, challenging behaviour, and forensic needs.
• Assess patients in homes and clinics referred to the service.
• Provide advice and consultancy to Community Learning Disability Team and colleagues.
• Offer supervision and support to non-medical prescribing colleagues, including nurse prescribers.
