Job summary

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Consultant Psychiatrist in Intellectual Disability based at Eastway, Chester. The post is split 0.5 WTE in Intellectual Disability and 0.5 WTE in ADHD services, with on-call duties and full NHS terms.

The successful candidate will lead clinical care, supervise juniors, contribute to service development across Cheshire and Wirral, and participate in annual appraisals and CPD activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage, appraise and supervise junior medical staff as agreed between consultant colleagues and the medical director.
• Undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients.
• Record clinical activity accurately and submit this promptly to the Information Department.
• Participate in service and business planning activity for the locality and, as appropriate, for the whole mental health service.
• Participate in annual appraisal for consultants.
• Attend and participate in the academic programme of the Trust, including lectures and seminars as part of the internal CPD programme.
