To bolster our efforts and continue to provide high quality, patient focussed services, we are seeking a Consultant to join the Community Mental Health team, as part of our Older People and Frailty division.
We are looking for a doctor who is passionate and committed to the development of Older People and Frailty psychiatry and who is able to support a wide range of mental health services for those over the age of 65 with dementia and functional psychiatric disorders including patients with early onset dementia. The post holder will be responsible for patients within Skegness and Boston and will work as an integral member of the older people team.
This is a full-time post, 10 programmed activities per week split equally between MHLS based at the Boston Pilgrim Hospital and the Skegness CMHT for Older Adults. The post holder will work alongside other professionals within both Teams including the Service Manager, the Clinical Lead, consultant psychiatrists, Mental Health Practitioners, specialty doctors, resident doctors, Memory Assessment Practitioners, administrative staff, and Waiting Well Practitioners.
The post holder is expected to have a cross-cover arrangement with other consultants within both teams.
The post holder will provide medical leadership and consultant psychiatric input to the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) covering Skegness localities for Older Adults (over 65s) including those with early onset dementia. The post holder will also provide sessional input and support to the Mental Health Liaison Service based at the Pilgrim Hospital, Boston.
To be familiar and up to date with relevant mental health and capacity act legislation in relation to the care of older people. There will be a requirement to carry out mental health act and capacity assessments or DOLs assessments when required.
To be available to act as a Section 12(2) and DOLs approved doctor for the purposes of the Mental Health and Capacity (DOLs) Assessments.

Essential qualifications include MBBS or equivalent medical qualification, Full GMC registration, and Included on the GMC Specialist register, or within 6 months of completing.
Desirable qualifications include Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management and Additional clinical qualifications.
