A leading NHS Trust in Coventry seeks a Consultant Psychiatrist for a combined role within the Forensic Assessment Consultation, Training, and Treatment Service. This position involves both community forensic services and responsibilities on a newly commissioned low secure autism inpatient ward, requiring GMC registration and postgraduate qualifications in psychiatry.

This is a new combined post as aConsultant Psychiatrist within the Forensic Assessment Consultation, Training and Treatment (FACTT) Service and Onyx ward, a newly commissioned 7-bed low secure autism inpatient ward. FACTT provides community forensic services for adults with Intellectual Disability and/or Autism to minimise offending and protect public safety, avoid unnecessary hospital admissions, and prison sentences and support safe and timely discharges.
The post holder will be part of the multi-disciplinary team of staff working within the FACTT Service. The Trust is keen to continue to develop community forensic services, with the aim of avoiding hospital admissions, where possible and safe to do so.
Part of the role will also involve cover of Onyx Ward a purpose built 7 bedded low secure ward for autistic adults.
The post-holder is expected to take part in a shared out-of-hours rota, which includes Brooklands Hospital.

CWPT is a teaching Trust and has been involved in the development of Warwick University Medical School since it began. We provide placements for medical students, and medics from CWPT contribute to the academic programme.
