Consultant Psychiatrist in inpatient Adult Rehabilitation Service HDU

An exciting opportunity to work as an inpatient consultant psychiatrist in a male high dependency psychiatry rehabilitation unit. You will provide senior expertise in the assessment and treatment of patients with complex psychosis and rehabilitation needs.

The post holder will work with colleagues from other professional disciplines (ward manager, clinical lead, nurse consultant, social worker, OT, pharmacist) to provide a tailored multidisciplinary package of treatment supporting rehabilitation and recovery.

Main duties of the job

Your role will include holding RC responsibility for patients admitted to the unit.

You will provide medical leadership to the multidisciplinary team.

Job responsibilities

Applicants should be on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview. Candidates should be eligible for Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status.

Qualifications
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • GMC registration (or eligible) with a license to practice
  • Included on GMC Specialist Register or eligible within six months of CCT
  • Approved Clinician status
  • CCT or equivalent in general Psychiatry
  • Endorsement in rehabilitation
  • Postgraduate qualifications in relevant fields
  • Training in supervision
  • Experience in multidisciplinary team working
  • Up-to-date knowledge and high-level clinical skills in diagnosis and management of psychiatric disorders, especially complex psychosis
