Job overview

The successful candidate will work alongside community-based colleagues to provide assessment and psychiatric treatment for Older Adults within the Fenland community across a largely rural area.

The population of the Fenland area is approximately [population data missing]. The OPMH team had [referral data missing] referrals in the past months. Not all referrals require the consultant to see them; many are managed by other staff in the community team. On average, the Fenland OPMH service receives [referral number] referrals per month, with approximately [outpatient number] for psychiatry outpatient and [memory assessment number] for memory assessment.

Main duties of the job

Clinical:

  • To lead the multidisciplinary team in providing excellent psychiatric care
  • To provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plans
  • To lead weekly MDT meetings and ensure prompt reviews of acutely unwell patients
  • To work closely with the CRHTT OP, community teams, and liaison services as patients move between these teams
