Job summary: Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit a full-time substantive Consultant Psychiatrist. This post is based on the Early Intervention Model in Rochdale and is a Community post.
Main duties of the job: To provide consultant psychiatric input to a high functioning community EIS as part of a multi-disciplinary service. The role is to provide a comprehensive assessment and NICE concordant treatment package of care to all patients.
To provide high-quality Mental Health Care for adults following the EIS frameworks.
To work closely with other teams and Consultants to ensure coherent and high-quality mental health care for adults with severe and enduring mental health problems within the Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale (Rochdale borough) area.
To work with the MDT to support the development of the service, and to attend local and divisional service development meetings.
This is an exciting time to join the Trust and there are many opportunities to contribute to the organisations' development and to look at service redesign models. Rochdale has a very strong teaching commitment and candidates will be expected to contribute to the teaching of medical and nursing staff. There are close links to ongoing research projects. The Consultants contribute to local service user & carer groups.
The post holder will be based at the Outpatients department Birch Hill Hospital Rochdale. Rochdale operates an Inpatient- Outpatient model (New Ways of Working) and is staffed by 9 full-time Consultants in Adult Psychiatry and old age psychiatry and a nurse consultant on the female adult ward. Each Consultant Psychiatrist is allocated a Junior Doctor (NW Deanery training schemes) to work with them.
Applicants must be on the GMCs Specialist Register or eligible for inclusion or be within six months of the anticipated award of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Adult Psychiatry at the time of interview for the post.
Low frequency on-call (1 in 31) with full second tier on call and 1 day off after your on call.

Desirable: Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management. MRCPsych, Additional clinical qualifications.
Desirable: In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
Desirable: Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service.
Desirable: Able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post, Reflected on purpose of CPD undertaken, Experienced in clinical research and / or service evaluation, Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit and service improvement: awards, prizes, presentations and publications, Has led clinical audits leading to service change or improved outcomes to patients.
