Consultant in General Adult Community Psychiatry

Easter Ross and Sutherland

1.0 WTE Permanent Post

We seek to appoint a self-motivated clinician with enthusiasm for General Adult Community Psychiatry to join our team of psychiatrists in NHS Highland. This position offers the opportunity to serve a population across rural and urban communities in Easter Ross and Sutherland. The post is supported by a well-developed community mental health team, primary care colleagues, specialist mental health services, and strong third sector links. The recent pandemic has enhanced our capacity to deliver services via digital technology, providing further opportunities for the post holder. The role is based within the Mental Health Service in the South and Mid Operational Unit, either at the New Craigs site or in the community by agreement. This is a full-time (1.0 WTE) position (8 DCC + 2 SPA).

Applicants must be on the GMC specialist register in General Adult Psychiatry or within 6 months of completing CCT, with consideration for proleptic appointment. The post involves participation in the on-call rota at New Craigs Hospital, currently at a frequency of 1:15, with a 3% availability supplement. Flexible working arrangements, including part-time options, will be considered.
