Job summary

North London NHS Foundation Trust’s Portman Clinic seeks an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist in Forensic Psychotherapy. The role covers six programmed activities with clinical services, teaching and consultancy across health, forensic and social care settings.

You will assess and treat patients, supervise trainees, engage in teaching, and contribute to governance, audit and outcome research within a national specialist clinic environment.

Qualifications

• MB BS or equivalent medical qualification required.
• MRCPsych or equivalent desirable.
• Inclusion on GMC Specialist Register or eligibility within 6 months of CCT desirable.
• Section 12 Approval desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessments and psychotherapy for patients.
• Supervise psychiatry trainees in forensic psychotherapy.
• Engage in teaching and training programmes.
• Offer consultancy to teams and organisations in forensic field.
• Engage in clinical governance, audit and outcomes research.
