Job description
Overview

A 10-session post providing senior medical input into community care and inpatient services for a defined population in Blaenau Gwent. The post holder will join a forward thinking, compassionate and proactive Community Mental Health Team and inpatient service who have recently received a very positive outcome following a visit from Health Inspectorate Wales (HIW). The role also provides an acute service into the inpatient unit and the Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) serving the area. There are strong links between the multidisciplinary/multi-agency team, GPs and voluntary agencies. The post holder will take lead in providing a service to adults of working age within the North Blaenau Gwent borough catchment area and will conduct outpatient clinics at Cwm Coch, Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan, and within the community/home visits including CTP reviews and 117 review meetings. They will also run a weekly ward round and undertake other required reviews for inpatients under their care for Carn y Cefn ward. As an integrated team member, they will foster close working relationships with other members of the community team and with partner organisations.

  • Engage as an integrated team member with multidisciplinary and multi-agency collaboration.
Regulatory and Qualifications
  • This position involves Regulated Activity with children and adults as defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012).
  • Checks undertaken following any conditional offer: Enhanced check with barred list information, including adults and children's barred list checks.
  • Applicants must hold full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC.
  • Candidates for Consultant posts must be on the GMC Specialist Register (including via CESR/European Community Rights) or will have a CCT/CESR(CP) date within 6 months of interview.
