Job summary

Priory Preston Hospital seeks a psychiatrist to provide clinical leadership and comprehensive patient care across acute mental health services. The role requires MRCPsych (or equivalent), CCT (or equivalent), and active GMC Specialist Register status with Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician designation.

The post involves leading ward rounds, risk assessments, and therapeutic planning, with responsibility as Responsible Clinician for detained patients under the Mental Health Act 1983.

Priory Hospital Preston, Bartle, near Preston is a mental health hospital offering services for adult males and females with acute mental health needs and eating disorders across four wards. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes and Preston railway station nearby. The M55 motorway is also easily accessible.
Pro Rata salary for this role is £108,528

What you'll bring to the role

Applicants must hold MRCPsych (or an equivalent qualification), a CCT (or equivalent) and be included on the GMC Specialist Register, along with Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status. They must demonstrate clinical knowledge, skills, and experience relevant to the speciality, the ability to work within and lead a team, and a commitment to shared leadership, collaborative working, and service improvement.
