Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Southampton seeks a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team. You will provide senior clinical leadership and deliver intensive home-based care as an alternative to admission.

Responsibilities include assessing adults with acute mental health crises, supervising junior doctors, and contributing to governance, education, and service development within a multidisciplinary community team.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with MRCPsych or equivalent.
• Approved Clinician status required by start date.
• Section 12(2) approval under the Mental Health Act 1983.
• Eligibility for GMC Specialist Register within six months of interview.
• Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
• Experience in multidisciplinary teamwork and service development.

Responsabilités

• Provide senior clinical leadership within the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team.
• Assess and manage adults with acute mental health crises.
• Conduct scheduled and urgent patient reviews.
• Supervise junior doctors and other medical staff.
• Contribute to clinical governance, service development and CPD.
• Participate in on-call rota and multidisciplinary meetings.
