An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Psychiatrist in the Forensic Intellectual and Neurodevelopmental Disorders (FIND) Service, which includes teams such as the Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT), Forensic Personality Disorder Service (FPDS), and FIND. The service covers Devon, Cornwall, and the Isles of Scilly, providing care pathways for patients with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, and/or Acquired Brain Injury (ABI).
The role involves clinical leadership, acting as Responsible Clinician for the Devon Tier 4 caseload, facilitating care pathway management, and participating in regional strategic developments. The post includes responsibilities such as care planning, risk assessment, multidisciplinary collaboration, and statutory duties under the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
We are seeking a candidate with substantial experience in forensic and/or learning disability psychiatry, registered with the GMC, with appropriate qualifications including CCT or equivalent, and approved under section 12(2) of the Mental Health Act. The role offers the chance to develop leadership skills within a supportive team environment.
