This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Central Norfolk CFYP Team based in Norwich.
The current Central Consultant Psychiatrist establishment consists of 1.5 whole time equivalent Child & Adolescent and 2 whole time equivalent General Adult Consultants who cover the community 0 - 25 services across Central Norfolk for the North and South Youth teams and the Children and Families team based at Mary Chapman House.
In addition, there is a whole-time equivalent Consultant and 1.5 wte speciality doctors for the CAMHS Eating Disorder service covering the same area.
The Trust is looking to recruit a full time Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our South Youth minor team. This post has come about due to vacancy and joins a lively multidsciplinary team at 80 St Stephens Norwich.
The post holder will be expected to work in several different settings within the Locality, including other Trust facilities, primary care, local acute Hospital NHS Trust facilities, and patients' residences. The post holder will also be the Responsible Clinician for patients in their care.
Working within the Youth team, the post holder will undertake, exceptionally, to perform additional duties in emergencies and unforeseen circumstances and to be available for such irregular commitments outside normal duties as are essential for continuity of patient care which will on occasion involve seeing people at home and allowing time for 'hard to engage' children and families.
Norfolk's CFYP services are very involved in working with the wider system to develop CAMHS services in Norfolk as part of the local transformation plan. We are working with commissioners to make things as seamless as possible for young people and their families.

This is a full-time (10 session) role with 7.5 clinical sessions including clinics and team meetings and 2.5 SPAs which can be used for a range of activities as well as CPD to be discussed with the Clinical Director.
