Job summary
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled, approachable and motivated Consultant Child &Adolescent Psychiatrist to join the Barnet Enfield and Haringey CAMHS division in a full time post to help in managing the care of young people living requiring assessment and treatment within Enfield CAMHS (Generic/ Neurodevelopmental- 6 PAs) which is based at Bay Tree House, Enfield and Enfield CAMHS Looked after Children (HEART Team) 4 PAs- based at Thomas Hardy House, Enfield). This is an excellent opportunity for a consultant to work within a well-functioning and closely knit multidisciplinary team of committed professionals in CAMHS and Enfield LAC Team. This is an existing Consultant post which has become vacant as the current post holder has moved within the Trust.
Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will be working as part of an established multidisciplinary Generic Specialist CAMHS team which working closely together with other disciplines. The service includes Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, Clinical/ Counselling Psychologists, Child Psychotherapists, Family Therapists, CAMHS Practitioners and Mental Health Nurses. The multi-disciplinary team has had further expansion and recruitment as a result of agreed new commissioning and investment working to offer a full complement of therapeutic interventions and work towards meeting the demands of the service. Currently the multi-disciplinary team have skills to offer Generic and Neurodevelopmental initial assessments /screenings and work across the two areas and we have an identified group of clinicians that have highly specialist skills to support the NDS pathway. Our plan going forward would be to create two pathways in this team- a Generic/Emotional pathway and a Neurodevelopmental pathway. Each MDT clinician holds their own individual clinical caseload.

The post-holder will be expected: To manage, appraise and give professional supervision to junior medical staff as agreed with the medical director and in accordance with the Trusts policies and procedures. There are currently no medical training posts attached to the advertised post, but the post-holder may be asked to supervise trainee doctors as part of leave cover for the designated clinical supervisors in the team. To ensure that junior doctors working with them are compliant with the Working Time Directive.
