Job description

Consultant Psychiatrist – CAMHS – North West England – Perm/FTC

Triple West Medical has been appointed by an NHS Trust in North West England to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist in CAMHS, either on a substantive basis or a 12-month minimum locum FTC.

The full-time permanent post (10 PAs) will involve providing psychiatric input into the specialist CAMHS Service. The Post Holder will be a key team member, offering assessment and treatment for young people in the local area. We seek a passionate Consultant Psychiatrist dedicated to improving outcomes for Children and Young People.

Brief Duties:
  1. Provide psychiatric services for children and young people.
  2. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams and other agencies in health and social care.
  3. Assess young people's mental states, formulate diagnoses, advise on treatment, and monitor risks alongside the MDT.
  4. Collaborate creatively with agencies involved with children and young people (e.g., Paediatrics, Schools, Drug and Alcohol services, Voluntary sector, Local Authority).
  5. Conduct referral meetings and case reviews as needed.
  6. Offer case-based discussion and teaching opportunities to the MDT.
  7. Handle occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances in consultation with colleagues.
  8. Provide cross-cover for other consultants as required.
  9. Adhere to all relevant safeguarding policies and procedures.
  10. Work closely with other CAMHS Consultants, operational staff, multidisciplinary teams, and Care hub managers.
  11. Participate in regular audit and quality assurance programs to maintain high service standards.

Our client is willing to issue Certificates of Sponsorship to suitably qualified overseas doctors. GMC registration and relevant experience are essential for this position.
