Bolton Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs) provide multidisciplinary assessment, treatment, and care for individuals with severe and enduring mental health problems. The service is available to residents of Bolton, aged 16 to 70 years, with diagnosed functional mental health issues, including:
The service operates sector-wise, defined by GP practice populations within the borough. The South Sector covers practices at Stone Hill, Level Chamber 1, Pikes Lane, Orient House, Deane Clinic, Wyresdale, St Helen’s Road, Peter House, and Stable Fold Surgery. The sectors are reviewed periodically to reflect population changes and ensure equitable distribution among the four General Adult Community Consultants.
The catchment includes under 16s (60,000) and over 65s (40,000), with each of the six General Adult Psychiatrists serving just under 30,000 people. The post is based at Barnett House, Weston Street, Bolton, sharing an office with full PC and secretarial support, and supported by a full-time Core Trainee.
