Job summary

Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal, Stockport, is recruiting a GMC-registered Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Adult Acute Ward on a permanent basis. The role involves leading multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, and developing a therapeutic milieu while upholding dignity and high standards of care.

Applicants must hold MRCPsych or equivalent, a CCT, and be on the GMC Specialist Register, with Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status.

Responsibilities

• Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and development of a therapeutic milieu.
• Supervising referral and admission processes including preadmission assessments of young people with the team.
• Providing a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team for assessment, formulation and treatment of adults.

Description Priory Hospital Cheadle on our Adult Acute Ward£170,000Full Time - 37.5 HoursPriory Hospital Cheadle has an opportunity for a GMC registered Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team.Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal, Stockport is an inpatient mental health service for young people and adults. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes along Wilmslow Road and Cheadle Hulme and East Didsbury railway stations approximately 1-2 miles from the service. What you'll be doing In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.

• Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieu. Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
• Supervising the process of referral and admission including contributing to preadmission assessments of young people with other team members.
• Offering a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to the assessment, formulation and treatment of adults.

Applicants must hold MRCPsych (or an equivalent qualification), a CCT (or equivalent) and be included on the GMC Specialist Register, along with Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status.
