Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Consultant Psychiatrist to join Falmer Ward, a 20-bed acute adult mental health ward at Mill View Hospital in Brighton & Hove. You will lead a multidisciplinary team providing inpatient care and contribute to service development.

Applicants should be on or near GMC Specialist Register and eligible for Approved Clinician status. The role includes research, teaching, and quality improvement opportunities within an established trust.

Qualifications

• On GMC Specialist Register within six months of joining.
• Eligible for Approved Clinician status.
• Specialist training in General Adult Psychiatry.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment and treatment for voluntary and detained patients on a 20-bed acute adult mental health ward.
• Act as Responsible Clinician where appropriate.
• Provide senior medical leadership within the multidisciplinary team.
• Collaborate with nursing, psychology, occupational therapy and medical colleagues to deliver person-centred care.
• Support complex clinical decision-making and risk management.
• Liaise with community teams, primary care and acute hospital services.
• Supervise and support junior medical colleagues.
• Contribute to service development, teaching and quality improvement initiatives.
