Elysium Healthcare Limited is seeking an experienced consultant psychiatrist to provide input for inpatients and lead a multidisciplinary clinical team. The role emphasizes governance, service development, and collaboration with external agencies to meet complex patient needs.

The successful candidate will hold GMC registration with MRCPsych or CCT and participate in a regional on-call rota. The post offers competitive salary and comprehensive benefits within a supportive network.

Qualifications

• MRCPsych or equivalent CCT in general adult psychiatry or related subspecialty is preferred.
• Full GMC registration and annual appraisal within 12 months.
• AC status acceptable for non-specialist on the register; Section 12(2) approval.
• Experience working within an MDT for complex patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide RC and consultant psychiatrist input to inpatients.
• Participate in a low frequency second-on-call rota for the region.
• Assess new referrals to ensure service meets admitted patients' needs.
• Provide clinical leadership and contribute to governance and service development.
• Maintain strong relationships with external agencies and commissioning bodies.
• Contribute to training and education of staff.

and an enhanced GP service to meet patients' physical healthcare needs. You will have support from a dedicated supervisor and a medical secretarial team. Specialty doctor cover is available for the acute ward. You will have access to excellent CPD, and the support of a large peer group of enthusiastic and high-calibre consultants from varied sub-specialties.

Your responsibilities

• Providing RC and consultant psychiatrist input to inpatients
• Participation in a low frequency second- on-call rota for the region
• Assessing new referrals to ensure that the service meets the needs of those who are admitted.
• Providing leadership to the clinical team and contributing to clinical governance and service development
• Maintaining good relationships with external agencies such as community teams and commissioning bodies.
• Contributing to the training and education

To be successful in your application, you will need

• To hold, MRCPsych or equivalent CCT in general adult psychiatry, forensic psychiatry of LD or medical psychotherapy, is preferred.
• We will consider experienced candidates who are not on the specialist register but have AC status.
• Full GMC registration and to have had an appraisal within the 12 months.
• Section 12 (2) approval and AC status
• Experience of working within an MDT in providing care for patients with complex needs
