Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced and committed Consultant Psychiatrist to join their senior leadership team. The Consultant will provide clinical leadership and psychiatric expertise, ensuring safe, evidence‑based, and person‑centred care for all service users. You will conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop individualised treatment plans that integrate medical, psychological, and social interventions. As a senior member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), you will work collaboratively with doctors, nurses, therapists, and the Clinical Service Manager to deliver holistic care in line with GMC, CQC, and NICE standards.

Job Specifics

Salary: £105,000 – £135,000 per annum. Working Hours: 5 days per week. Contract Type: Permanent employment.

Requirements

Essential:

  • GMC registration with licence to practise and CCT or equivalent on the GMC Specialist Register in Psychiatry (General Adult, or related specialty).
  • Significant post‑qualification experience in substance misuse, addictions, or dual diagnosis settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and oversee therapeutic interventions throughout the program.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance (GMC, CQC, NICE).
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in senior medical management or service development.
  • Training in psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, or trauma‑informed care.
  • Research interest or publications in stress management, psychiatry or related fields.
