Job Advert Role Description

Priory Hospital East Midlands, located between Nottingham and Mansfield, is a 28-bedded specialist acute and psychiatric intensive care service for female patients.

We offer individualised care packages for patients. We specialise in managing behaviours that lead to distress, supported by a team of psychologists and occupational therapists. Our multidisciplinary team focuses on positive behavioural support planning to help patients manage and develop new strategies to improve their distress and trauma.

Sapphire Ward

10-bedded psychiatric intensive care unit for females of working age. The ward is proficient at nursing patients in a severe phase of their mental health illness, integrating current best practices to promote recovery.

Our multidisciplinary team has extensive experience in managing high levels of patient distress, enabling us to admit patients from various clinical settings, including other mental health inpatient wards and emergency departments.

Barton Ward

9-bedded acute service providing treatment for females of working age. Barton Ward aims to extend NHS care pathways during times of fluctuating capacity, allowing more people to receive care and treatment with minimal disruption to patients and their loved ones.

Barton Ward collaborates with family/carers and CCGs to minimize hospital stays, aiming for discharge into the community when possible.

Consultant Psychiatrist Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Consultant Psychiatrist for Priory Hospital East Midlands, which offers female adult Acute and PICU inpatient services in partnership with NHS providers. The vacancy is for a full-time position covering the 10-bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The role may evolve based on service needs and staff skills. The site is supported by an experienced Specialty Doctor. Admissions are accepted 24/7, 365 days a year.

The successful candidate will join an expanding, diverse medical team within the Priory North Region.
