Job summary

Evolve Staffing Ltd on the Isle of Wight is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist for a senior NHS locum placement. Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration with a valid Licence to Practise.
• Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry (CCT preferred).
• Active Approved Clinician (AC) status and Section 12(2) accreditation in England.
• MRCPsych qualification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and medical treatment planning for adult service users with complex conditions.
• Fulfil statutory duties under the Mental Health Act as a Section 12(2) registered doctor and Approved Clinician, including tribunal reporting.
• Lead multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical ward rounds, and CPA reviews.
• Oversee psychotropic prescribing, physical health monitoring, and risk management strategies.
• Collaborate with local healthcare partners, social care and crisis teams to ensure continuity of patient care.
• Contribute to clinical quality assurance, audits, and medical education within the trust.

• Oversee psychotropic prescribing, physical health monitoring, and risk management strategies.
• Collaborate with local healthcare partners, social care teams, and crisis teams to optimize patient care continuity across the island.
• Contribute to clinical quality assurance, clinical audits, and medical education within the trust.

Essential Candidate Requirements:

• Full GMC Registration with a valid Licence to Practise.
• Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry (CCT preferred).
• Active Approved Clinician (AC) status and Section 12(2) accreditation in England.
• MRCPsych qualification or equivalent international award.
• Proven track record as a Consultant Psychiatrist operating within NHS mental health services.
