Qualifications

• Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practise.
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for General Adult Psychiatry (or within 6 months of obtaining CCT / CESR).
• MRCPsych designation or equivalent post-graduate psychiatric qualification.
• Valid Section 12(2) approval and active Approved Clinician (AC) status in England.
• Substantial clinical experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist within NHS CMHTs.

Responsibilities

• Lead diagnostic evaluation, risk assessment, and treatment planning for adult patients.
• Conduct routine outpatient consultations, urgent reviews, and domiciliary visits as needed.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to junior staff and trainees.
• Lead CPA reviews, safeguarding meetings, and clinical risk assessments.
• Prescribe and monitor psychotropic meds per NICE guidelines and local formularies.

Evolve Staffing Ltd. is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist specializing in General Adult Psychiatry to join a community-based mental health service in Banbury, Oxfordshire. This clinical opportunity involves delivering medical assessments, diagnosis, and ongoing psychiatric management for adult service users suffering from severe and enduring mental health illnesses, including mood disorders, schizophrenia, psychosis, severe anxiety, and personality disorders. The post holder will provide clinical expertise to the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), collaborating with care coordinators, social workers, and allied health professionals to deliver personalized care pathways across northern Oxfordshire.

Core Clinical Responsibilities:

• Lead the psychiatric diagnostic evaluation, risk assessment, and treatment planning for adult patients referred to the Banbury Community Mental Health Team.

• Perform routine outpatient psychiatric consultations, urgent mental health reviews, and domiciliary home visits where clinically indicated.

• Exercise statutory responsibilities as an Approved Clinician (AC) and Section 12(2) registered doctor under the Mental Health Act.

• Lead Care Programme Approach (CPA) reviews, multi-agency safeguarding meetings, and clinical risk management assessments.

• Review, prescribe, and monitor psychotropic medications, ensuring adherence to National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines and local NHS trust formularies.

• Provide clinical supervision, teaching, and mentorship to core psychiatric trainees, specialty doctors, and clinical team members.

Essential Candidate Criteria:
