We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our mental health team at HMP Gartree. HMP Gartree is a category B prison based in Market Harborough, housing around 650 patients.

You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team, including GPs and ACPs, to deliver psychiatric support to adult males, mainly aged 28-50, many of whom have complex mental health and trauma needs.

Hours
20 hours per week, spread across 2.5 days. We are flexible with the days worked, with options for a rolling rota of 2 days one week and 3 days the next, Monday to Friday. We can also offer a full-time role across HMP Stocken and HMP Gartree or HMP Five Wells.
Salary
This position is for 20 hours per week, with an annual salary up to £180,000 per annum FTE, depending on experience.
How will we support you?
  • You will be part of a team of over 15 experienced and supportive Consultant psychiatrists.
  • You will attend monthly Consultant meetings and 1:1 clinical supervision.
  • We offer bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course.
  • There is a competency framework in place.

Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role, offers of employment are subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing excellent clinical care, assessment, and treatment to patients on your caseload onsite.
  • Participating in the strategic direction of the mental health service, leading senior clinicians in service development, and providing clinical supervision.
  • Working within the multidisciplinary team to review referrals, determine treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in complex case reviews.
