Position Overview

A respected healthcare provider is currently seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join its multidisciplinary mental health team in Exeter. This role offers an opportunity to provide high-quality psychiatric care within a structured and supportive clinical environment. You will work alongside professionals across various disciplines, ensuring a holistic approach to patient treatment and care planning.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for overseeing the psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients, as well as contributing to service development, supervision of junior staff, and participation in clinical governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of psychiatric care across inpatient and/or community settings.
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychologists, nurses, and therapists.
• Contribute to risk assessments, care planning, and treatment reviews.
• Participate in clinical meetings, patient case reviews, and service audits.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to junior medical staff and trainees.
• Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, policies, and best practices.
