Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our mental health team at HMP Stocken. HMP Stocken is a category C training prison housing around 1056 patients, the majority aged between 21-40 years. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support adult males with complex mental health and trauma needs.

We are seeking a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at HMP Stocken, working approximately 20 hours per week across 2.5 days. We offer flexibility with a rolling rota (2 days one week, 3 the next) and are open to full-time roles across HMP Stocken and other facilities like HMP Gartree or HMP Five Wells.

Salary: Up to £180,000 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Current GMC registration
  • Specialist registration in General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry
  • Approved under section 12(2) of the MHS 1983

  • Up-to-date knowledge of adult psychiatry and mental health policies
