Job Advert Role Description

We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist (Forensic Psychiatry, Rehabilitation Psychiatry or General Adult Psychiatry) in the Blackburn area – £180,000.

Kemple View is situated in the beautiful Ribble Valley. It provides low secure and rehabilitation and recovery services to 90 male patients. We exclusively treat NHS patients and work closely with our NHS colleagues to achieve the best outcomes for our patients.

We offer a wide range of specialist services for mental illness and personality disorder, including for older adults. Our treatments are recovery focused and provided by an experienced multidisciplinary team. We offer a range of specific therapeutic programs and a variety of occupational therapy activities, both hospital and community based.

We strive to provide high quality care to all of our patients and received a rating of Outstanding in all five areas by the CQC in August 2019.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team of 4.7 consultants.

What you need
  1. Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews, and the development of a therapeutic milieu.
  2. Fulfil the role of Responsible Clinician to patients. You must hold a CCT, or equivalent, in Forensic Psychiatry, General Adult Psychiatry or Rehabilitation Psychiatry.
  3. Contribute to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services provided at the hospital, and contribute to the development of service strategy.
  4. Contribute to in-house training programmes within the services and offer supervision to other members of the multi-disciplinary team, particularly junior medical staff.
  5. Maintain CPD and re-validation requirements, as determined by the Royal College of Psychiatrists or other relevant statutory bodies.
