Job Description:

As a Consultant Psychiatrist within the Community Mental Health Team, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality psychiatric care to adults with mental health issues. The role involves a combination of clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic and patient-centered approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments of adult patients within the CMHT.
  • Provide expert diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of mental health disorders.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, social workers, and occupational therapists, to develop and implement care plans.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and contribute to the development of service protocols.
  • Supervise and support junior medical staff and contribute to their professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant clinical governance and quality assurance standards.

Requirements:

  • Medical degree and full GMC registration.
  • Completion of specialist training in General Adult Psychiatry.
  • CCT or equivalent in General Adult Psychiatry.
  • Relevant experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in a community mental health setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
