London Office Based
We are looking for a London-based Consultant Project Manager to manage a range of exciting construction projects within the heritage, culture and healthcare sectors that range from multi-million-pound regeneration projects to blockbuster exhibitions at leading museums in the UK. As the successful candidate, you would also be required to support our Project Management team and should already have an established set of skills and some experience within this field. We welcome applications from individuals already at consultant grade and those looking to move to into up into this position within a supportive environment. Salary will reflect your skills, experience, and qualifications.
Throughout the project lifecycle the successful candidate will lead on:
- Project concept and brief development
- Procuring design teams, consultants and contractors
- Developing and implementing project infrastructures and communication strategies
- Chairing management and co-ordination meetings
- Developing and applying effective management co-ordination and reporting systems
- Directing, monitoring and overseeing design activity
- Undertaking risk management studies and implementing control procedures
- Managing change control procedures
- Overall project financial reporting
- Developing and updating master and sub programmes
- Monitoring and overseeing the project’s construction and handover phases.
What Will You Do
- Work closely with project stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Create detailed project plans that address scope, goals, deliverables, resources and workloads.
- Liaise with internal teams, external partners, and clients to maintain clear communication and smooth progress throughout.
- Conduct regular site visits and risk assessments, addressing potential issues promptly.
- Track project performance through management of project data and regular progress reports.
- Support Quantity Surveying team with cost estimates, feasibility studies, tender documentation, and contract administration.
Stay updated with industry trends, and PM methodologies / practices through participation in training programs and industry events, plus share knowledge and best practices via team discussions.
You Will Bring
- A Degree in Project Management or a related construction field or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in Project Management within the construction sector is essential.
- Excellent IT literacy, including proficiency in MS Office. Ideally with proficiency in MS Project or similar.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead and build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Ability to manage a busy workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-motivation, proactive problem-solving and decision-making skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Professional certifications (RICS, CIOB, APM, etc.) would be an advantage but we can support you to work to these if needed.
- Knowledge of Contract Administration (JCT or NEC) is an advantage.
