Job summary

Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust's Queen Alexandra Hospital invites a Consultant Plastic Surgeon to join a broad Plastic Surgery service. The role offers both substantive and initial short-term locum options with potential for longer-term appointment, subject to approval.

The department covers acute and elective plastic surgery, including hand trauma, microsurgery, breast reconstruction and complex reconstructions.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• FRCS (Plastics) and/or EBOPRAS.
• Experience in microsurgical breast reconstruction is desirable.
• Experience in breast reconstruction and/or hand surgery is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality elective and acute Plastic Surgery care.
• Participate in the Plastic Surgery on-call rota.
• Contribute to multidisciplinary working.
• Support the education and development of trainees and colleagues.
• Participate in clinical governance, audit and quality improvement.
• Contribute to service development and pathway redesign.
