Job description
Overview

We are very pleased to offer the substantive appointment of a Consultant Physician, with a special interest in Medicine, at the Elderly at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.

This position will be based at Barnet General Hospital. If appointed you will join a committed team of consultants, in our well-developed and respected service. We also pride ourselves on our supportive and forward-thinking culture.

Responsibilities

If appointed you would alternate between the services we offer, including running a large acute geriatrics ward and providing the “front door services” in the well-developed Adult Assessment Unit (AAU).

In the AAU, you would become part of a team involved in running the fast turnaround bed base in the unit, and also providing an adjoining same day/same week hot clinic.

If successful you may also partake in the provision of a frailty in-reach service, supporting patients in the emergency department (ED).

You would also play a role in running the virtual ward service, a very exciting and expanding development for patients at our hospital.

You would be on the acute integrated medical on-call rota, supporting weekend and out of hours provision.
