Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Your Contribution:

· Provide outpatient and inpatient Stroke Medicine services.

· Undertake infrequent inpatient General Medicine services.

· Participate in a regular 1 in 11 commitment to the acute medical on-call rota.

· Contribute to the supervision of junior medical staff.

· Engage in teaching, examination, and accreditation duties.

· Participate in undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education.

Person specification
Qualifications
  • MBBS or equivalent. MRCP or equivalent.
  • Entry on the GMC specialist register for General Internal Medicine and either Stroke Medicine or Geriatrics via (a) CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview), (b) CESR or (c) European Community rights”
Experience
  • Should have completed a recognised training programme in General Internal Medicine and Care of the Elderly with experience of Stroke Medicine
  • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in GIM, Care of the Elderly and Stroke Medicine
Teaching / Research
  • Experience of teaching and training undergraduates, postgraduates and junior medical staff
  • Evidence of participation in clinical audit relevant to specialty
