We are seeking to recruit a substantive Consultant Perinatal Psychiatrist to work as part of the Community Perinatal Mental Health for Central and West Lancashire. The Specialist Perinatal service within Lancashire and South Cumbria is a result of investment into perinatal services nationally. The current vacancy has arisen due to the departure of the previous post-holder. The post is substantive and part time (9PA), which is expected to be worked over 5 days. The postholder would be expected to join the Consultant On Call rota, for which additional remuneration would be paid.

The CP will prioritise women depending on clinical need and ensure recommended timeframes are met. They will have a role in the assessment, formulation and management of cases and will carry a caseload of patients with complex care needs and of patients deemed to present with increased risk in the perinatal period.

Applicants should hold full GMC registration and be included on the Specialist register of the GMC or they should be eligible for entry to the Specialist Register within 6 months of the interview date.
