Job summary

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant Pathologist to join its Cellular Pathology Service. The role includes leadership, teaching, and contribution to education across the Trust with duties on a fortnightly rota at WHH and via videoconferencing.

The post requires GMC registration, Fellowship or equivalent, and Specialist Registration or CCT at interview. Opportunities exist to develop sub-specialty interests and participate in STP‑driven service improvements.

Qualifications

• GMC registration in good standing.
• Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists or equivalent.
• Specialist Register or within six months of CCT at interview.

Responsibilities

• Participate as an active member of the East Kent Cellular Pathology Service and contribute to service provision, planning and development.
• Develop sub-specialty interests as part of planned service development with designated Leads and deputies.
• Participate in Multidisciplinary Meetings to support cancer services and quality assurance.
• Participate in clinical audit and external quality assurance schemes; engage in periodic audit meetings with clinicians.
