NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a part-time Consultant Paediatrician to deliver high-quality care in acute and general paediatric services. The role includes clinical duties, supervision of trainees, and contributions to service development. Candidates must have full GMC registration and relevant qualifications.

Consultant Paediatrician (1 post – part time - 32 hours)
NHS Lanarkshire is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team who would relish the opportunities and challenges of delivering high quality care across Lanarkshire in the acute and general paediatric service. This is a new part time post. The post holder will work in acute paediatric services and a commitment to the general oncall rota is expected. We see this as an opportunity to further develop paediatric services and to continue to develop as a centre of excellence in secondary paediatric care.
This is a part time post with 8 PAs available. The core 8 PA working week will be based on 7 PA’s of Direct Clinical Care (DCC) duties and 1 PA of SPA time for the successful post-holder.
The post will involve general paediatric receiving ward duties in both acute triage unit and inpatient unit. The successful candidate will be involved in the supervision of trainees, vetting general paediatric referrals and will have their own caseload in the general paediatric clinic. An interest in allergy to support the allergy team would be welcomed with the successful candidate contributing to clinics within this service. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to shaping the service in paediatrics as part of the modernising programme board.
Applicants should have full GMC registration and a licence to practise, membership of the RCPCPH, be registered with the GMC and on the specialist register or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of a CCT or awarded CESR at the time of interview.
