Job overview

The post is based at Lennard Road, with possible off-site work. The proposed Job Plan includes approximately 8.5 Programmed Activities (PAs) of Direct Clinical Care, with 1.5 PAs for Supporting Professional Activities or other duties. We welcome applications from General/Neurology Paediatricians interested in leadership roles, outpatient clinics, or acute paediatric work, including emergency cover. Job plans are subject to review.

Person specification
Qualifications
  • MB BS or equivalent, Level 3 Child Safeguarding training
  • Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics & Child Health (MRCPCH) or equivalent
  • Inclusion in the specialist register for paediatrics or within 6 months of CCT, with dual accreditation in Neurodisability and General Paediatrics or community paediatrics with neurodisability experience. Full GMC registration is required.
Desirable qualifications
  • Higher degree (e.g., MSc, DCH, DCCH, MBA, MD, PhD)
  • Post-graduate qualification in Paediatric Neurodisability
Experience
Essential
  • Clinical experience in Paediatric Neurodisability
  • Ability to manage complex paediatric neurodisability cases independently
  • Leadership within multidisciplinary teams
  • At least 2 years NHS experience at SpR level or equivalent
Desirable
  • Specialist interest in child protection and neurodisability
  • Experience in related fields like general practice, mental health, or public health
