We are seeking to appoint a full-time Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in paediatric orthopaedics and adult hip surgery. The successful candidate will join a team of 8 established hip and 3 paediatric orthopaedic consultants within a department comprising 31 Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons and 7 Consultant Spinal Surgeons, responsible for trauma and orthopaedic/spinal services to the Health Board.
The successful candidate will contribute to the elective and trauma workload of the department, with a focus on paediatric orthopaedics and adolescent and young adult hip management. Additionally, the post holder should be competent in managing general adult and specialist paediatric trauma. Engagement with the South Wales paediatric orthopaedic network and enhancement of specialist hip surgery services are expected. Skills and experience in soft tissue hip & hip arthroplasty, general paediatric orthopaedics, trauma hip arthroplasty, and operative treatment of periprosthetic femoral fractures are highly desirable.
