Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is inviting applications for a consultant/advanced post in orthodontics to lead complex orthodontic care across two sites. The role includes direct patient care, MDT clinics, and supervision of trainees and staff within the department.

The post holder will contribute to service development, regional audits, and have opportunities to chair the Staffordshire managed clinical network in due course.

Qualifications

Full GDC registration with licence to practice.
ISFE in orthodontics or within 6 months of this at the time of interview

Responsibilities

To provide ongoing orthodontic clinical care for a range of complex orthodontic cases.
To assess new patients and develop treatment plans for direct and indirect care.
To supervise StR and therapist treatments ongoing within the department
To take part in the provision of MDT clinics in orthognathic surgery and restorative dentistry.
To take part in the management of the department supporting the clinical lead in developing local service provision and supporting treatment in primary care.
To engage in quality improvement activities including local and regional audit meetings and engagement with the Staffordshire managed clinical network. It would be expected during tenure to take on the role of chair of the managed clinical network at some point.
