Job Description:

CPL UK Healthcare (formerly RIG Locums) is seeking a Forensic Consultant or Specialty doctor with S12, NHS-based, in Portland and Salisbury, Dorset. The role offers negotiable rates for a dedicated psychiatrist. The trust seeks an enthusiastic Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry for part-time work, covering in-reach clinics at three prisons, one day per week. Working hours are 9am-5pm on weekdays, with flexibility on the day of the week per prison. Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, and overseeing the mental health of patients in your care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing prisoners in house-blocks and healthcare units
  • Liaising with external services to arrange CPAs, aftercare, or hospital transfers
  • Managing psychiatric cases in the inpatient unit
  • Performing other duties typical of a prison in-reach psychiatrist
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives with multidisciplinary teams
