Job Description:

Cpl UK Healthcare (formerly RIG Locums) is seeking an Old Age Consultant for an NHS position based in Bolton, Greater Manchester. The role offers highly negotiable rates for a dedicated psychiatrist. The trust is looking for an enthusiastic Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry to work full-time, ideal for someone seeking to broaden their experience in community psychiatry and develop clinical skills in a supportive environment. The team is well-established with good support from senior clinical and managerial colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide medical leadership to the MATS team.
• Work with the memory assessment team as part of a diagnostic pathway for dementia.
• Perform first-line generic assessments for referred patients; team members also provide these assessments.
• Provide medical support and supervision to the MATS team, including second-line specialist assessments and treatments when appropriate.
• Contribute to service development alongside team members.
• Supervise junior doctors within the MATS team.
• Typically see two new patients and follow-ups per session or five to six follow-up patients. Assessments are conducted in Bolton town center or patients' homes. The consultant does not have care coordination responsibilities.
• Collaborate with other Old Age consultants and team members to develop a high-quality, responsive, and integrated service tailored to client needs.
• Maintain high-quality medical records and ensure timely communication with other health and social care practitioners.
• Use assessment and management skills under the Mental Health and Mental Capacity Acts; advise others on their application.
