A healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join their team. Applications are invited for a substantive post as Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust, based at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. The post comprises 10.0 PA and is non-resident on call.
We seek a motivated and committed individual to join our supportive Obstetrics and Gynaecology team. This new position is part of a planned expansion of the consultant workforce. The successful candidate should demonstrate broad experience in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with the ability to contribute to outpatient hysteroscopy services, gynaecological surgery, two-week-wait clinics, and referral management.
The post holder will provide clinical leadership in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, supporting high-quality, patient-centred care. Initial responsibilities include helping reduce the backlog caused by COVID-19, with flexibility in service support during this period.
The role involves working at both Stoke Mandeville Hospital and Wycombe Hospital, with activities including antenatal clinics, ERS triage, gynaecology clinics, outpatient hysteroscopy, ward cover, and surgical sessions. The post also involves participation in teaching, training, recruitment, administrative duties, and on-call responsibilities.

Key responsibilities include providing consultant-led services, participating in training and recruitment, ensuring proper delegation and training of staff, and sharing responsibility for labour ward presence. The post aims to ensure uninterrupted service provision across the week, with dedicated labour ward sessions.
All staff are required to wear PPE according to infection control procedures. COVID-19 and flu vaccinations are encouraged for staff safety.
