Job summary

A leading NHS trust in the North East of England is looking for a full-time Consultant Obstetrician with an interest in Fetal Medicine. This position involves participating in a dynamic obstetrics team, supporting high-risk pregnancies, and engaging in a variety of clinical and research activities at two hospital sites.

Qualifications

  • Part 3 MRCOG and GMC registration required.
  • Evidence of training/experience in obstetrics and gynecology.
  • Experience with clinical audits and innovative services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care at James Cook University Hospital and Friarage Hospital.
  • Participate in on-call rota; focus on fetal medicine and high-risk pregnancies.
  • Contribute to the development of obstetric services.

Consultant Obstetrician

The James Cook University Hospital is seeking to appoint an Obstetric Consultant with an interest in Fetal Medicine to join the friendly, dynamic, and forward-thinking Obstetric team. The post attracts 10 PAs, and the applicant will be expected to provide care at both the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough and the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.

The James Cook University Hospital is a large teaching hospital in Teesside which provides care to women across the Tees Valley on two sites. We are a training centre for advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery in endometriosis. In addition we provide tertiary centre care for Gynaecological Oncology, a regional centre for complex Maternal / Fetal and Neonatal Care, Reproductive Gynaecology, and has BSUG accreditation for Urogynaecology and will be applying for SST status for urogynaecology in 2024.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a full-time appointment (10 PAs) to complement the Obstetric team and contribute to the further development of our services. The post holder is expected to take part in the on-call rota, and those with a special interest in Fetal Medicine and high-risk pregnancies are encouraged to apply.
