We are seeking a Consultant Neonatologist to join our amazing neonatal team.
We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for motivated and ambitious individuals to join our team. We aim to appoint a Consultant Neonatologist (substantive post) to join the consultant team in the Neonatal Directorate which is part of the Women's and Children's Collaborative at South Tees NHS Hospitals Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work alongside a well-integrated team at James Cook University Hospital as part of Northern Neonatal Network providing medical neonatal intensive care for babies of all gestations.
The post has 10 programmed activities and is in accordance with the 2003 Consultant Contract Terms and Conditions. The successful candidate will have an academic commitment and a continuing research interest in perinatal medicine. The Department works Consultant of the week (1 week for Intensive Care and 1 week for SCBU/TC/Postnatal wards). Whilst on call out of hours (1:10), the Consultants will be required to provide cover to the neonatal unit, delivery suite and postnatal ward.
We are a level three Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with 35 cots, 15 of which are used flexibly as intensive care and High Dependency Care and 20 are classified at Special Care.
We are fortunate that we have a team of 9 Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners who work on a blended rota with the Junior Medical team. In addition, we have a Research fellow and two Trust Doctors.
Working alongside our Neonatal Nursing and Medical Team, we have the expertise of Dietetics, Pharmacy, Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and more recently Psychology.
We also have a developing Transitional care Unit co-located on our Maternity Unit and a Neonatal Specific Outreach Team.
