Outpatient Network are looking for Maxillofacial consultants to Support us with our insourcing contract in Greater Manchester. OPN will be running both first attendance clinics and Theatres at the trust

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an experienced and dedicatedConsultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeryto join our team. This role involves delivering high-quality care to patients requiring specialist management of conditions affecting the face, jaws, mouth, and neck. The consultant will be responsible for both outpatient clinics and surgical procedures in theatre, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Job responsibilities

Clinical Duties

Conduct outpatient clinics for assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with a broad range of maxillofacial conditions, including trauma, oral pathology, dentoalveolar issues, and head and neck malignancies.

Develop and oversee individual treatment plans tailored to each patients needs.

Provide pre-operative and post-operative consultations.

Collaborate with other specialties (ENT, oncology, dermatology, orthodontics, plastic surgery, etc.) in multidisciplinary team meetings.

Ensure accurate documentation and coding of clinical activity.

Surgical Duties

Perform surgical procedures in the operating theatre.

Ensure compliance with clinical governance, infection control, and surgical safety standards.

Supervise junior surgeons and provide operative training.

  • Applicants must be fully registered with the GMC and must have specialist Registration.
