Consultant Marine Engineer - London - Permanent - £Excellent Package

Overview :

As a Consultant Marine Engineer, you will deliver expert marine engineering services to clients worldwide, including insurers, brokers, lawyers, shipowners, and other clients as directed.

Based in the UK, you will be an integral part of the team. You will also be a member of the global engineering team, providing support to colleagues in other geographical regions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing expert reports for arbitration and court proceedings in English to high standards of technical competence and integrity.
  • Performing hull and machinery damage surveys, which will require international travel and visits to ship repair yards and other industrial facilities.
  • Investigating fuel quality issues.
  • Offering comprehensive loss prevention support to various stakeholders in the maritime industry.
  • Supporting the wider team of master mariners and naval architects as required.
  • Being proactive in marketing, developing the business, and nurturing and maintaining client relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Attainment of STCW Chief Engineer Unlimited III/2 Certificate of Competency.

Experience:

  • Significant seagoing experience, including sailing in a senior onboard position.
  • A good understanding of the maritime industry, particularly the commercial aspects of ship operation and maintenance.
  • Preferably, experience in shore-based technical management.
