Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics (knee revision surgery)

Join to apply for the Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics (knee revision surgery) role at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

An opportunity has arisen to join our team primarily based at Colchester Hospital, with possible activities at Ipswich Hospital. Applicants must have completed CCT or equivalent (CESR or portfolio route) and be on the Specialist Register, or within 6 months of achieving this at interview. This new post supports the development of ESEOC and aims to enhance trauma care, especially for complex lower limb trauma.

The post-holder will help develop the revision knee arthroplasty service, collaborate with the MDT, attend department meetings, audits, and contribute to clinical governance and academic development. The start date is expected to be August 2025. The role involves working at Colchester Hospital and potentially at Ipswich, with flexible working arrangements.

This role includes a one in 12 on-call commitment (adult and paediatric trauma), handling general and subspecialty trauma cases, including periprosthetic fractures.
