Job summary

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn is inviting applications for a consultant post in the Stroke and TIA service. The role focuses on delivering high-quality outpatient stroke and TIA care within a multidisciplinary team, and running a weekly Stroke and TIA clinic.

You will contribute to service development and join GIRFT, cost-improvement programmes and the introduction of evidence-based new ways of working.

Qualifications

• GMC registration with licence to practise is required.
• Entry on GMC Specialist Register, or eligible within six months of CCT or CESR at interview.
• Experience in General Internal Medicine and/or Stroke meeting Specialist generic capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality stroke and TIA outpatient care across the trust.
• Run outpatient stroke and TIA services with a multidisciplinary team.
• Hold a weekly Stroke and TIA clinic.
• Take part in the Stroke in reach service.
• Liaise with the multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to the service improvement programme.
• Support Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) work.
• Support the cost improvement programme.
• Introduce evidence-based new ways of working where needed.

Education

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification

MRCP Part 1 and Part 2, or equivalent experience

Core work is outpatient care within a multidisciplinary team, a weekly Stroke and TIA clinic and Stroke in reach. Service improvement is also central, covering GIRFT, cost improvement and new ways of working. Fit depends on GMC Specialist Register entry, or eligibility within six months of CCT or CESR at interview.
