An established industry player is seeking a Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health to join their dynamic team. We are looking to appoint to an 8PA Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at Royal Hallamshire Hospital to deliver high quality direct patient care and support specialist training in Sexual and reproductive healthcare.
The post holder will provide:
Consultant input within the Sheffield Sexual Health Services including routine and complex contraceptive services and training.
Two menopause clinics a week as part of the Directorate of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Neonatology (OGN). These will be based in Jessop Wing of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required.

Main duties of the job
The Consultant will undertake a full range of medical duties in Contraception Clinics and Sexual Health Clinics and will be expected to work with clinical colleagues supported by local managers in providing a safe, efficient, and effective service for Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. The post holder will share clinical responsibilities with professional colleagues and will actively contribute to the governance arrangements of the department.
The post holder will provide active support to the leadership team to support the continued development of the Integrated Sexual Health Service in Sheffield including the development of additional services in community settings in order to enhance access to services ensuring that patient safety, confidentiality, and effective clinical governance are maintained and to help develop appropriate clinical pathways.
A key element of this role is to deliver specialist training. The candidate will be expected to deliver and contribute to the development of internal and external specialist training. This includes training DFSRH, inter-uterine devices and sub-dermal implants for contraception. The applicant would also be expected to contribute to the delivery of local courses relating to all aspects of sexual health and provide expertise and drive in delivering a robust training programme.
There is no on call associated with this post.
