An integrated care system is seeking a highly motivated Consultant in Rheumatology and General Medicine to join its dynamic team in Wakefield. This full-time position involves conducting outpatient clinics, providing inpatient care, and contributing to service development. We are seeking an experienced and motivated GIM accredited ConsultantRheumatologist to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary team at thePinderfields and Dewsbury Hospitals. This is an exciting opportunity for ahighly skilled clinician to contribute specialist expertise to our expandingrheumatology services whilst providing expert care in general medicine.
Conductoutpatient rheumatology clinics, diagnosing and managing conditions such asrheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and other inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.
Provideon-call and consultant-present care across our sites, with a primary focus on Gate44 (GIM ward) attending ward rounds 2 days a week.
Provideexpert care in general medicine and rheumatology, managing both acute andchronic conditions.
DaytimeDuties: part of the scheduled weekly timetable (below) with two consultantsproviding concurrent ward rounds. Sub-specialty support is provided fromrespiratory, cardiology, diabetes, gastroenterology, acute oncology andneurology teams.
Supportfor medical subspecialties is provided by separate on-call teams includingCardiology (Coronary Care and Acute Cardiology) a separate GI bleed Rota(provided by Gastroenterology) and Critical Care (level 2 and 3 care facilitiesshared anesthesia and medical consultant care).
Urgent and Emergency Care duties including out-of-hourson-call; schedules will take due account of the provisions of working timeregulations and safe working
On call evening and weekend work would be required dependenton the skills of the suitable applicant

Duties will be based primarily on our Wakefield(Pinderfields) site although all our medical staff are involved in deliveringcare to patients on all our sites.

Supporting Professional Activities in accordance with theTrust Framework, with at least aminimum of 1.5 SPAs included in the core 10PA timetable. Additional SPA or DCCtime may be commissioned in line with the skills of the successful candidateand changing requirements of the service.
Examples mayinclude formal teaching responsibilities or departmental leadership roles
Specialist skills as part of the GIM curriculum will also besupported.
Allconsultants at the trust are provided with secretarial support and anadequately equipped office, which includes IT facilities.
Timeoff in lieu is currently supported at the trust for Consultants who have workeda weekend or bank holiday on-call shift.This is subject to prior agreement with the divisional management team.
